Warehouse / Transportation Associate - Pool

Position Summary
Urban Recipe is building an applicant pool for two Warehouse and Transportation Associate positions. We will review applications on a rolling basis as needs arise. These roles support the daily logistics and operations of our warehouse and distribution processes. Responsibilities include receiving, processing, storing, and transporting inventory to cooperative locations in alignment with purchase orders and distribution schedules. Additional duties include loading orders onto trucks, organizing stock, ensuring accurate labeling, and serving as a representative of Urban Recipe during deliveries and vendor interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect merchandise from the warehouse and safely transport materials to co-op locations
- Receive, inspect, and document merchandise for delivery or return
- Maintain accurate records of inventory entering or exiting the warehouse
- Identify and report missing, lost, or damaged items in a timely manner
- Ensure products are safely stored, labeled, and organized for distribution
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to maintain the quality, quantity, and variety of inventory
- Support the implementation of operational systems and best practices
- Complete weekly distribution logs
- Serve as a representative of Urban Recipe at vendor sites and distribution locations
- Provide support for special projects and operational improvements as needed
- Wear and utilize all required PPE and follow safety protocols at all times
- Other Duties
- Assist with general warehouse tasks to maintain an efficient and organized workspace
- Carry out administrative and logistical duties to support warehouse operations
Education and Certification
- High School Diploma required
- Forklift license preferred
- CDL license preferred
Qualifications
- Experience with a community-based or nonprofit organization preferred
- Experience with forklift operation and or CDL driving
- Experience using Google Suite, especially Google Calendar
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Understanding of Urban Recipe's Mission
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Strong planning and organization skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Demonstrated ability to encourage orderly warehouse operations
- Previous experience interacting directly with warehouse equipment
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to lift and transport up to 40 lbs to waist level on a daily basis
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, standing, and walking throughout the workday
- Regular work in a non–temperature-controlled warehouse environment, including exposure to seasonal heat and cold
- Routine work inside freezers and coolers for short and extended periods, with required protective gear provided
- Ability to safely maneuver pallet jacks, carts, and other warehouse equipment in varying environmental conditions
- Required use of all PPE, safety equipment, and tools to ensure personal safety and compliance with organizational protocols
